The Idea

As a mother of two Lara Olson was frustrated when she realized that her then kindergartner was getting exposed to art in a limited way at school. Lara had the idea to create an art studio designed just for kids. The studio would combine quality art education with a kid-friendly environment. Parents can drop off their children knowing that the studio is picking up where public education is becoming more limited.  Lara welcomes you and your children to visit the studio, put on an apron and create! Go ahead make a mess!

The Founder: Lara Olson

Lara graduated from Minnesota State University-Mankato with a degree in interior design. She then focused on both residential and commercial design for a number of years ultimately becoming a sales representative in the furniture industry. She managed a multi-state territory for 14 years. She now looks forward to less travel and more messy time in the studio!

The Council

The Kidcouncil was created as a format to allow the children to voice their ideas, interests and opinions about what goes on at the studio. The kids get to try out new lessons and products, and share ideas for future classes. The council consists of 15 kids of various ages. If you have a Family Membership at Kidcreate Studio, your child(ren) are eligible to take part in the Kidcouncil. Please let us know if your child is interested in participating in the Kidcouncil.

The Photographer

Dan Olson is an advertising photographer located in Minneapolis, MN with local, national, and international experience.
